USS MARS AFS-1 REUNIONS

Pittsburgh September 10-14, 2008

All former crewmembers of the USS MARS AFS-1 are encouraged to, attend our East Coast reunion.  This will be our first reunion in the city of Pittsburgh along with our first visit to the city of Mars, PA to view & have your picture taken {bring your camera's} by our ship’s bell.

 

We will be using the Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh/Green Tree as our reunion hotel, which is located just 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport at 101 Radisson Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 Ph: 412.922.8400.  Make your hotel reservations now to insure that you have a room at the reunion hotel.   

 

When making your reservation with the hotel, use the Mars Reunion rate code.  

 

The Mars reunion room rate will be $92.00 a night.  All reservations must be made on or before August 01, 2008.  Free: 750 parking spaces, Airport transportation is provided by the hotel for all guests.  Make your hotel reservations now to insure that you have a room at the reunion hotel.

While attending the 2005 reunion in Jacksonville FL, and the 2007 reunion in San Diego CA.  I took notes and asked several shipmates as to what they like best about the reunions.  I also talked with many of the spouses as to what they would like to see at the reunion.  Everybody's responses went into the planning of this reunion in Pittsburgh PA. 

 

There is something for everyone.  Friday evening you will be able to take your spouse to dinner and a show without leaving the hotel.  Yes I am a romantic at heart. 

 

Saturday afternoon you can take her for a two hour river cruise with a picnic lunch. 

 

There is a ball game planned by Bob Schorfheide for Friday evening too.  You may contact him directly for more information. 

 

The buffet is scheduled for 5pm on Friday which will give you plenty of time to eat at the hotel and make the game by 7pm.
